We've got a ticket to ride.....

the plane to Washington to go to Grama's fort Christmas! It's going to be a big one, Jess and Stu and Dustin and Erica, and all the family will be there. i am very excited. Mom is coming out in 2 weeks for Thanksgiving. I plan on cooking the whole shabang of course. It's my favorite meal of the whole year! I was kind of hoping we would have a new house to have dinner at bus no such luck. The one we made the offer on went south and so we are moving on. We have a new group of homes to look at this weekend so hopefully we see one we like. So that's the news in Reno.

So this is what's happening......

Well the bank made a counter offer way higher than the list price of the house. So we are countering only a little higher than our original offer. It seems there is another offer other than ours, so basically the bank is trying to make the most money by playing us against each other. I'm hoping that the other people can't go up any more and we get it, or they get it and we can move on. In other news we had a fun weekend. I made some halloweeny food items and we went to a haunted house. It has been very cold and rainy and even snowy this week. Winter is on the way. I guess I could mention that I voted today for MCCAIN. That's all I will say because I don't believe people want to read all about my political beliefs. But we will soon know who our next Pres will be.

We Made an Offer...

on a house! It is pretty exciting and stressful all at once. We have been house hunting for about 4 weeks and we finally found one we liked and could afford, after seeing about 20+ houses. Now we pretty much wait. It is a foreclosure and owned by the bank so it may take a while to hear back on it. In the mean time we keep our fingers crossed. Bob (Matt's dad) drove out on Saturday to look at the house with us and then zipped home on Sunday. We had a lot of fun, I taught him how to play roulette, I think he's a natural!
School is going pretty well about half way through this semester. I will be glad when this semester is over and hopefully we have our house and we can go up to Washington for Christmas. I just want things to go smoothly right on into the new year. Dad's birthday is on Friday, Halloween! The weather has been pretty nice here. It is cool in the mornings but warms up after that. Not a whole lot else going on.

A wedding Weekend

So the Toste-Irelan wedding was a complete success. The bride showed up and said yes so that was a good start. Her dress was beautiful, the lodge was gorgeous and even the weather cleared up. We had a bit of a snow scare the day before, like it snowed about and inch in Reno. But the sun shined and it was great. Here are a few pictures. Jazzy will have the professional ones back in about 2 weeks and I'm sure she will post some. Just a credit to my self. I thought the flowers turned out great. I made all the bouquets and boutonnieres and the arrangements. It was fun, I could do that kind of stuff for a living!

Catching up

So this has been an A+ week. I got an A on my math test to begin with. I have a lost a total of 16 pounds and can finally fit into a pair of jeans that were given to me 2 Christmas's ago. And big news....we are going to buy a house. Which one I don't know yet but we have pre-approved by our lender and hopefully we can start looking this weekend. It is all very exciting. Also Jaslin's wedding is like 2 minutes away and we are trying to get everything in order. We are staying at lost trail lodge. I have a lot to do! I am doing the flowers plus I am like an unofficial wedding planner/taker over and I have to make sure it's just right. The room that Matt and I are staying in is cool, we get to climb a ladder up to our bed! And it has a cute little wood stove and a BIG tub (calm down, we will wear swim suits OK geeze). It will be fun. It better not rain and I swear if I have to put on a bee suit and kill bee's by the hundreds I will- there was a bit of a bee problem last time we were there and the Bride is allergic-. So that is the update. I can't wait to be a homeowner and I will keep you all updated on the hunt.

This week has been maddness

to the max. Matt has worked a ton of overtime. Sat, Sun, and Mon, night he didn't get home until the wee hours of the morning because he had road calls or call outs to deal with. So we are both sleep deprived at this point. And of course school school school. We are very happy for the weekend to almost be here. On Saturday we are going tot he Reno Air Races. Matt loves to go every year. My favorite part is watching the Blue Angels. It is pretty neat to see all the planes and how loud they are. I think we are going with Chris and Jaslin. Last weekend was fun. Matt got a new gun so he played with that. Jaslin and I got out feet and nails done for her birthday and went to lunch. Also I have lost almost 15 pounds. I am pretty happy about that. But Matt spent most of that weekend working and me doing homework. Look for pictures next post from the Air races. Happy weekend everyone.
